Wheat Appam

I have a sweet tooth and I really cant imagine living without sweets. ;) But at the same time we need to be health conscious too. So here is a whole wheat sweet which is healthy and tasty too. :)

Ingredients:

Par-Boiled Rice - 1 cup
Wheat flour - 1 cup

Jaggery - 2 cups

Method:

Soak rice in water for two hours. Dilute jaggery in 1/2 cup of water and strain it to remove dust. Now grind the rice smoothly using a little amount of the jaggery water. Now add the wheat flour in the remaining jaggery water and mix without clumps. Finally mix both together. This batter should be in the consistency of dosa batter.

Now in a pan of oil, pour one ladle of batter at a time to make one appam. Keep the flame low throughout. Remove the appam once it is moderately roast and place them on a tissue to strain excess oil. :) Appam is ready to eat. :)

Happy eating :)
